23 Dezember French Toast SouffleThis is a recipe that my family loves and it is so easy!
1 loaf of cinnamon raisin bread, chopped
12 oz. cream cheese, softened
6 oz. butter, softened
3/4 cup maple syrup (the real stuff)
10 eggs
3 cups Hal and half
Butter a 9 x 13" pan or casserole dish. Place chopped bread in the pan. Mix cream cheese, butter and 1/4 cup maple syrup with a hand mixer. Drop over the bread layer leaving spaces between the drops. Beat the eggs, half and half, and 1/2 cup maple syrup. Pour over the bread and cream cheese. Cover and refrigerate over night. Uncover and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cut into square, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with butter and maple syrup. Serves 10 - 12.
Hint: I make 1 1/2 times the cream cheese layer to give it a more custardy texture.
